Artist Statement
Alice often draws from landscapes in the making of her paintings. Her works range from representational to abstract, and she often blends realistic with the surreal. Through working with landscape, she explores technical questions of painting around texture, color and mark-making as well as more conceptual questions around human relationships, loneliness, and the forces that provide stability.
