We, Moss Galleries, are excited to announce that we will be opening a second location in Portland, Maine! The new gallery will be located at 100 Fore Street. We will be on the street level of the building shared by WEX and Roux Institute in the new commercial building developed by the Portland Developer Jonathan Cohen.
This gallery will complement our current gallery in Falmouth, Maine, as our original location in Falmouth, Maine will still be our main headquarters for Moss Galleries. We have a deep appreciation for the immense success at our location in Falmouth, “I love Falmouth and am extremely thankful for the community support over the past 17 years,” says Elizabeth Moss. “I am excited to continue the strong relationship with Falmouth.”
The Portland location will express an edgier side of our represented artists, showcasing artists with national repute such as Leslie Parke, Hunt Slonem, and the late Lynne Drexler. In fact, the inaugural exhibition will be Lynne Drexler’s much sought-after rare works from the 1960s. Notable Maine Artists such as Richard Keen, Charlie Hewitt, Phoebe Porteous, and more will grace the walls of the new gallery as well.
We are currently working with the talented designers Laura Zoulamis and Melanie Scammen at Bowerbird Design. Bowerbird’s modern and elegant design aesthetic will match the gallery’s new theme perfectly. We cannot wait to have two locations for our collectors to enjoy!
