Assistant Director

BIOGRAPHY:

Cody Castle-Stack is an artist and arts organizer based in Portland, Maine, and has been working at Moss Galleries since 2022.

As an arts organizer, Cody has over a decade of experience organizing, collaborating on, and assisting with hundreds of art exhibitions, live performances, installations, and other creative projects with galleries, artists, organizations, musuems and instiutions all across New England and the east coast.  In 2018, he co-founded and served as director of New System Exhibitions (now 82 Parris) until 2023, a nonprofit art space in Portland dedicated to showcasing emerging contemporary artists. In 2020, he served as co-curator of the Portland Museum of Art Biennial, "Untitled 2020".

As an artist, his practice embraces aesthetic and conceptual diversity, with a focus on playfulness, material exploration, and elementary symbolism. While his artwork often takes the form of painting, his diverse bodies of work are unified by an ad hoc and intuitive approach.

Cody is avid lover of design--from furniture to fashion, web design to architecture.
